Youth Spring Travel Lacrosse League is for boys and girls in grades 1 thru 9. Boys and girls up to grade 9 are eligible to sign up if they are 14 on or before December 31, 2009. Spring League will be set-up for players of all skill levels from beginners to experienced. Each age group will be divided into skill levels. An evaluation session will be conducted to determine each player's skill level.
Stafford Lacrosse Association (SLA) is a member of the Northern Virginia Youth Lacrosse League (NVYLL). Each team will play eight lacrosse games. There will be certified US Lacrosse referees at all games. Home games for Stafford Lacrosse will be played at Stafford High School. The away games will be played at various fields throughout Northern Virginia.
Practice times will vary with some coaches practicing as early as 4:30 pm while some will practice from 6-8 pm. Travel Spring Ball practices may begin as early as March 1th and the season will end the first or second weekend of June, depending on playoffs. Skill evaluations will be held in mid-February.
Each team will consist of 15 to 22 players. Players must have their own equipment (Helmet/Shoulder Pads/LAX Gloves & Arm Pads/Lax Stick/Cleats/Mouth Guard).
Cost for Spring Lacrosse is a $185.00. This cost covers the cost for fields, referees, and game equipment. Each player will receive a lacrosse practice pinney and game shorts.
